Once consent has been issued (post-design stage), the tree decisions have been made and the emphasis shifts towards protecting the trees identified for retention.
Making developers and their agents aware of the need for tree assessment information to accompany planning applications is facilitated by councils setting out what is required in their formal planning policy guidance. To help this process, we have summarised the tree assessment process in three downloadable documents that councils can insert directly into their formal planning policy framework/green space strategies.
